Women chats: Barbara

The first time I saw Barbara, she was 23 years old; I remember she was wearing a kilt, a pair of combat boots, a basque; she had a French visage…she was very different from the way I expect to see her: she was a brilliant medical student and I think she was boring and dowdy.
Today she is a 47 years old heart specialist and she is still an unpredictable collection of stiles and meanings. She has some of the most important characteristics of the 21 century cleverness: curiosity and thoughtfulness; that makes her an original person in her work, in the way she dresses, in her way to enjoy life and in her passions.
She is not so diplomatic: she always says what she thinks and when this is not possible, she prefers to keep quiet.
Do you think there is something special in our time? There is a great confusion (values, identities, opportunities) and at the same time a strong sense of freedom…and this doesn’t yield benefits…
How do you choose your purchasing? If it strikes you for some reasons or…? I like the astonishing, unusual and freakish object. I choose the dress that looks me pretty and that stunts me at the same time. I'm very struck with the colors of objects; I don’t care of their quality and their designer label. I buy items of clothing (dresses, shoes, accessories) that excite my fantasy and that evoke thinking and memories in me.
A film, a book, a web site to suggest ? I’m reading “Just kids” written by Patty Smith and it’s very beautiful. I have just finished “Nei boschi eterni” by Fred Vargas, a novel and a genre that relaxes me because you can go into a little world, in a story that has a beginning and an end…this puts my mind at rest. Then two films of 2009: "Viola di mare" (it’s the second film by Donatella Maiorca), which is not to be missed and "Questione di cuore", written and directed by Francesca Archibugi, starring Antonio Albanese and Kim Rossi Stuart.
In the end I can say to be fond of a web site www.cavolettodibruxelles.it that I heartily recommend to that love cooking and the aesthetics.
